Section Tag Text and its position

Hi,

I'd like to move the section's tag text. The problem is that by editing the annotation symbols related to this affects all the sections using these symbols and I just want to move the text in some sections and not in others, and not necessarily to the same position.

Some of my thoughts during this process of what I tried to do or thought of doing if I knew how:

A)

The first, which I thought of as one possibility, was to create more of these Section views (attachment 1) and just have a number of these to cycle through. I didn't figure it out and I don't know if it is possible.

B)

The second was that I could perhaps add more positions that I could cycle through by the section. Now there seems to be

-one invisible

-one default position

-and one editable where I can move the text in the family

But is it possible to add more and in that case how?

(attachments 2 and 3)

C)

The last, which I didn't get going as I didn't really know how to do the editing for it, but it was to somehow add instance parameters to these sections and form there edit the position of the section tag text.

Is something of what I'm trying to do possible (and not disastrous) or is this something that can't be done at this point?

r tail of the Hello @M1k3y2014,

The first you need to know how section head work.

As you already know sections can have different Types.

A type has a Section Tag and that Sectio Tag has a Type with a section Head and Section Tale parameter.

That Section Head and Tail parameter pointing to one family with different types or two families with a type.

So you could create several Section Types that appear different.

The mall rotation icon (1) switches between the Section Head family that is defined in the Section Tag Type, the Section Tail family or none of both.section head.png

Zo you can play a bit with different families

Unfortunately, you can't move the text to a place of your choice. That would be nice tough.

Be aware that the Section Head or Tail family has a left and right reference plane.

that is what Revit uses to aline the symbol to the section line.

You can play a bit with Type parameters but the change will have an effect on all sections in your project that have the family type in their Section Type.

In the attachment, you will find a Revit 2018 family that you see here.

@robert.klempau, thanks for this one. Just one clarification before I close this one.

"Unfortunately, you can't move the text to a place of your choice. That would be nice tough."

I suppose you mean by instance parameters or similar, not like I have moved the text in the family in the examples above?

Hello @M1k3y2014,

Well, it would be nice if you could just drag the text label around like a Tag.

I will add an IDEA about this in The IDEA section.

You can Vote on that one.

I will let you know when I posted that one.

Some more questione about section tags:

1-Why text looks like in random position? as in the test attached it should be next to the circle (the end point of the section line) but it is not.

2-is it possible to use vertical text? it's disappearing when loaded

3-what does represent the blue color?

thanks for your help!
