Same Revision Number on sheet

Hello, has anyone done 2 same Revision number in the same sheet? Apparently it says "Revision Number "0" is used more than once." when i added a custom numbering. I needed because after the whole revision sequence i need to go back to Rev 0 for the As-built.

I am still looking for a workaround though, but if anyone has a solution can share?! Thanks a lot in advance.

You cannot have exactly the same revision number multiple times on the same sheet and even in pen & paper days that was considered to be bad practice.

Each revision number should refer to a unique version of the drawing/sheet.

During design and construction phases the normal practice, at least in my experience, would be to use a prefix such as T1 during tender process, C1 during construction etc.

For as fitted (or as installed or record) drawings I would remove all previous revisions and their clouds/bubbles and I usually mark the drawing as AF for as fitted - it is a record of what was built and anyone looking at it in the future probably isn't interested in what revisions were made at design stage etc, they're only interested in what actually exists in the building when they go to inspect, maintain or alter it.

If however you really want to have two revisions called zero then a cheat is to put a period (.) after one of them.

That confuses as heck. How do they which revision when they see delta 0?  Maybe use 00 for one of them.

Thanks for the reply. @ToanDN eventually we will just show 1 revision on the sheet, just the Rev 0 As-built only. @iainsavage we want to keep all the previous revisions as per the client's demand. Anyways i just got a workaround same as your suggestion but instead i put a space in the suffix. Looks great.

I'm glad you got a workaround but I still think your system is very confusing and that your client is wrong in what they are asking you to do.

In a career of forty years a fundamental principle of document control was that each drawing should have a unique number and each revision version should have a unique identifier so anyone looking at drawing XYZ revision A would be seeing exactly the same information on the drawing.

Sorry for the confusion, here is an overview for clarity:

SD-M1100-02-1A
Rev 0 - For Approval
Rev 1 - Revised as per Consultant's Comments
Rev 2 - Revised as per Design Change 201
Rev 3 - Approved (Issued for Construction)

AB-M1100-02-1A
Rev 0 - As-Built
