Routing Preferences Error

Hey Guys!

I tried to create a new project template when I found the following problem:

• I set my Pipe Types Elbow "Routing Preferences" as you can see.

1. When I start drawing a new pipe with this pipe type everything is working fine.
2. When I try to draw a new pipe from an existing pipe end using "Draw Pipe" command I get an Error Message ("No auto-route solution was found.")

    Have any one of you met this problem? (This problem is also exist in duct types.)

This may be happened due to,

1. Pipe type (same pipe type is required )

2. Pipe segment

3. Pipe Size

if its not the same Pipe Type, add a coupling to your routing preferences.....

First thanks for your reply!

It's cannot be the problem because my template file contain only one pipe type and I use the same size and segment.

I link what my Revit Lookup see maybe it will help you to solve the problem. (It's strange to me the Revit Lookup

doesn't see the loaded pipe elbow.)

I found the solution!

If you load a "tee" family in the project or template and set it in the routing preferences this problem is disappear.

having the wrong fitting in the routing preferences would be an issue 🙂

I am experiencing the same issue when using an empty Revit template. Loading a Tee family (already had one) into the project didn't seem to do anything.

Also, more strangeness, the "No Auto Route..." error does not appear if I am drawing everything within one run -- all the bends/angles place per the Routing preferences.  However, if I continue an already placed run, the error will show up for all angles except 90 degrees. If I continue the run after placing a 90 bend, everything works again.

Once I set ALL the routing preferences in any given type then the problem again goes away.

HOWEVER, the snoop current selection of the MEPCurveType still shows the null values for all of the routing preference objects (Elbow, Cross, etc...).

Weird stuff.

Hello,

To solve some routings, Revit needs a fitting in transition option.

exactly my issue!

I also had select specified angles only which had a massive difference when trying to slope the pipe and place fittings!
