Right Click - Multi Point Routing no longer changes service

MEP Fabrication Parts:

Revit 2024 has lost functionality. In 2023 and previous, you could right click on a pipe node and choose Multi Point Routing, if the pipe service was different than your active service it would swap for you and let you draw. Now Revit stops you with an error message that it's a different service.

This has always been an issue with drawing parts straight off the palette but the right click was the way to get around it without the nagging messages. Please revert this change!

P.S. it would be great if this "fabrication services don't match" message was helpful enough to give an option to continue drawing and swap services for us. Autocad was smart enough to do this with the attacher arrow.

Not sure what you're doing but this still works on my end in 2024 & 2025.

You may want to double check your configuration settings.

This is the message I don't want to see, it never popped up before in 2023 it handled swapping to the service automatically. Only through right click.

Sorry, misread the lost functionality part. It seems that the old functionality was reported as an issue.

Maybe an option to toggle that in the user profile settings would be an option to post in the idea forum. Otherwise, you may be able to create a dynamo script or plugin that recreates the functionality.

Thank you for sending the link. However that link describes using the palette, which has always given the mismatch service error message (when working properly).

The right click option was the only way to get more efficient operation where Revit actually understood that of course you wanted to automatically swap to the same service of the item. I really dislike this message in general, it is missing the most obvious helpful option: automatically swap service and place the item. Every choice (other than place the wrong service) cancels the command and makes you do it again.

It sounds like the best I can hope for is that this was an unintentional change byproduct of the linked "fix". Getting a bit irritated at intentional changes to the program that make drawing slower.
