Are you looking for us to upload families for you to use or are you looking for suggestions?

In my template(s) I only load content for my staff to get started. Every project is different but the process for starting work is usually similar from project to project. For the template I set up for our Electrical group, I talked to them about there workflow and what the needs were for them to get a project started.  Then they can load families from our corporate or Revit's Out of the Box libraries as needed.

In the template i have Default Families for:

  • Electrical fixtures (receptacles, switches, etc...)
  • PanelBoards (208/120 & 480/277)
  • J-Box's of various sizes
  • Transformer (most common used type)
  • Lighting Fixture (only generic in the template, they will load more accurate families as they develop there design.)
  • etc....

I will also load Default Schedules that will populate as content is placed so they dont have to be created/copied for each project.

  • Light Fixture Schedule
  • Feeder Schedule
  • Transformer schedules
  • Panel schedules
  • etc....
