Matching elec panel

Hi.

I used the OTB e panel, assigned all circuits, create schedule, etc fine until AHJ asking to show entry service, etc. on elevation view.

I safely duplicate the family, adding such items, loaded into the project, it looks fine. Now I would like to match the previous one to this newly modified one, but I get "disconnect warning". If I click ok then I have to recreate and re-power all the circuits again.

Q1: have I missed steps ?

Q2: let's say it suppose to be disconnected after matching, how wd I re-power all circuits without recreate them ?

Thx

make sure all the voltages and poles, and distribution systems are the same.  But when you change the panel type, it will probably clear out the distribution system, which could disconnect all the circuits..

To get around that, would create the new panel first, and then move all the circuits with “edit circuit” and “select panel”.  If you do the circuits in order, they should maintain their order.  Then delete the old panel.  This shouldn’t take much more than 5 min.

if you really want to change the type of the panel ( maybe it has conduits connected or something else you don’t want to recreate), I would move all the circuits to a temp panel, change the type, and then move them back.  Much easier than recreating all the circuits, especially if they have names.

I don't see that "edit circuit" anywhere. Perhaps this is not true for architecture suite 2017 ? See pix

I'm not sure if Revit Arch has that ability or not.

Try hovering over the receptacle, then pressing tab, and then clicking.  In MEP, that selects the circuit instead of the outlet.

If the outlet isn't connected to a circuit, Revit MEP just gives the error beep.

Don't replace panels.  Edit the panel family, add elevation detail then reload.
