Renaming Tags on mechanical equipment

Hi everyone, I am wondering why I am unable to rename the tags placed on my mechanical equipment. Whenever I try to double click the tag and try to rename it, a window that says "Change parameter values" appears, and all I can do is press "ok" or "cancel". Please help me out, appreciate it.

Can you share screenshot of the tag family?

Equipment tags are usually consists of parameter "mark". You should rename this parameter in properties pallete and it will automatically reflect in equipment tag.

Hi, I'm not sure where to navigate the page that you want to see. I have changed the value instead, does that work?

Is your tag pinned in place?

When I do that and double click it it takes me into the family editor.

Hi, I just tagged them all at 1 go using tag all command, then I select mechanical equipment. It came out as a "?" so I'm trying to rename it to the name I want to. In the end someone told me I can  just change the value to the name I want to and hence I did that, not sure if it is the correct way to do it though.

The question mark indicates that the parameter which the tag is looking for has no value.

In your project (not the tag family editor) you shoud be able to click on the question mark in the tag and then type a value into it.

Or, again in your project, you can change the parameter value in the family's properties.

The dialogue box that you've shared looks like you are in the family editor rather than populating parameter values in your project.

Go to the tags & see what tag your using. you can check the family to see if it's pulling from the right parameter also.
