Problem with location of analytic surface in exterior walls exporting a gbxml file

Hi. I am triying to export a gbxml file in revit to do an energy analysis in DesignBuilder and I have a problem. The gbxml always take the wall centerline to create the analytic surface and that is causing me problems because the area of the revit rooms and DesignBuilder spaces are different.

 

Is it any possibility to change the location (interior or exterior) of the analytic surface in revit through dynamo or any other program or plugin? Changing the Room Area Computation doesnt change the analytical space.

in the Energy Settings, try setting the Model to "Use Rooms and Spaces".

Thank you for your answear. It appears to be solved in revit, but when you export the model in gbxml, the analytic surface is still at the centerline. I have also tried downloading the gbxml from green building studio and its the same. The analytic surface is always at the centerline of the wall.

I think this is not a question of gbxml but Revit itself and how it places energy analysis surfaces during the creating of the analytical model. I tried all possible options but never managed to get the surface in the exterior wall located elsewhere than in the center of the wall.

 

For me the most annoying implication of this limitation is that floor slabs may not extend beyond the centerline of external walls. If they do, the horizontal surface between the wall centerline and the wall's external face will be considered as a shading surface ans also created as such in the energy model.

This does not solve the problem in my opinion. Choosing "Use Rooms and Spaces" over "Use Building Elements" will limit the energy analysis space volume to the inner surface of bounding walls but wall centerline still applies as the border line where surfaces are located.
