Pipe not showing below floor by coordination view

Because of the low quality of the architect model in Mechanical  view I have to use the coordination view.

By using view depth lower than bottom pipes are usually shown in a hidden pattern. This will work in the mechanical view but when i change it into Coordination view all pipe lower than bottom disappears.

Anybody know how to resolve this ?

Probably you use hidden line, meaning the floor (in coordination) obstructs the view of the elements below.

Maybe you can hide the floor or make it transparent.

other more time consuming options could be to use detail lines or make use of plan regions.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

personal curiosity, can you please explain what you don't like about the view? my Mech and Plum staff have no issues with the way it displays. well, maybe a couple, but nothing major 🙂

I'm curious about this as well, since none of our MEP people (nor myself) have ever made any complaints about the quality of any linked model in one view versus another.

Well what i don't like is that the architectural model is not shown properly. The walls don't have a hatch anymore and everything is shown in a light gray color.

for the detail level of the link, you can set the view to By Linked View. in our office we have views in each others models for this use, but you can use any view that display the way you want.

  • VG Overides
  • Manage Lineks tab
    • pick the link "+"
    • pick Custome
    • Pick By Linked View
    • pick a view from the arch model to mimic
  • OK

you can still edit the model categories and everything else as needed.

For the Grey Color,

  • Manage ribbon
  • Additional Settings
  • Halftone/Underlay
  • adjust as needed...

i don't believe it will work with a "Linked" IFC. But feel free to try and let me know :-). We don't deal with IFC files much in my office.
