Path of Travel with Linked Models

Hello All,

I am hoping for some advice on how to get the path of travel tool to work with a linked architectural model. I have had this tool work in some projects with linked models but not work in others. I assume this is something that is done in the architectural model itself or there is a setting that I am not finding to allow for this tool to see the walls in the arch model.

Thanks

cant find my notes, but i did try what i remember causing the issue and it all seems to work in 2021 that im using.

  • if you check the Reveal Obstacles does anything highlight?
  • have you checked your analysis settings to make sure the Top and Bottom "Zone" is set appropriately
    • default is 6'-8" Top & 0'-8" Bottom
  • do you have the latest Revit updates loaded?

  • if you check the Reveal Obstacles does anything highlight?
    • Reveal obstacles doesn't highlight anything in the linked models only stuff in my own mechanical model.
  • have you checked your analysis settings to make sure the Top and Bottom "Zone" is set appropriately
    • default is 6'-8" Top & 0'-8" Bottom
    • I have played around with these values with no positive results. Those default values should work in this case as the level I am working on is the top of the floor so 8" above that up to 6'-8" is between the floor and ceiling.
  • do you have the latest Revit updates loaded?
    • No I am working on getting this updated. I am running 2020.1. What confuses me though is I have another project where this tool worked perfectly.

Any updates on this issue? I have the same problem in Revit 2021. Both the main and linked files are on BIM360 if that makes any difference...

Same here, in Reveal Path of Travel Obstacles, the architecture model does'nt change orange ? Room Boundering is check. We worked with this architecte before and it was going great and for that project, nothing ? The highlighted is the structural model. Thanks

Perhaps Phase mapping hasn't been set up?

Hi, yes, Phase Mapping has been set up and I validated with a collegue. We try, doing a new view without any view templates applyed, keeping only the architecture link, all with no succes. What is weird, is that the  « Reveal Obstacles » highlight the structural, MEP models but not the architecture ? Is it possible to add the architecture link, will you are in the « Reveal Obstacles » view ? Thanks
