Costing of pipes based on diameter

Hello,

I am having an issue with changing the cost of pipes. If I enter the cost for 15 mm pipe, same applies to 20 mm pipe as well, as it is from the same pipe family. Does anyone know how this could be solved in schedules? (Through Sorting/ Grouping?)

I think that standard parameter is more for discrete items such as tables, chairs, doors etc.

For pipe you really want a cost per linear foot/metre I would think?

Best bet would be to create your own custom shared parameter, probably instance(?), group by size, untick show every instance, put a value in the field for each pipe size.

Hello,

Like @iainsavage said, you have to create an instance parameter for you size related cost, since the standard cost parameter is Type, which means that all sizes will have the same value.
