Oval ro Rectangular Transition or Offset

I have no idea how to get this to work. I need to transition from rectangular to oval duct which is aligned vertically. However the Oval duct is in the correct place in the chase and the right side doesn't line up with the rectangular duct. Is there a way to make a fitting like this?ovaltorectangular.JPG

Thanks

Carrie

hello

if the transition family allows justification then it should be possible. I always connect the different ducts concentrically, and then I justify them to the desired position

hope it helps

Well i think you have 2 solutions for this

1. You make an elbow for 74X34, and after the elbow you make your own transition [ i think it is possible if the duct fabricator is good]

2. The original duct 74X34 to go to the level of the oval duct, then the oval duct will go and connect to the big duct [TAP]

Hope it is helpful

I don't need an elbow, I need more of an offset. I don't know how to tell if the transition allows justification or not. If both these ducts were rectangular this would work. It would work if it were rectangular to round as well. I don't understand why oval duct doesn't work the same way.

hello

watch this video and try it, if you succeed then your transition allows justification

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3fQ04_uMzQ

this example is with rectangular to rectangular but it should work the same way with rect oval round and all the combinations

if you don't succeed you have to edit the family, and play with the constraints

I understood the video perfectly and I actually align my ducts differently. I was looking for that duct justification tool for aligning while drawing the ductwork. However mine doesn't work the way it does on the video. Before I start drawing my duct, I can change the justification in the properties to right justification, and then when I click to start my duct, it switches back to center justification. I don't understand why it switches back.

As for my Rectangular to Oval offset transition, I made both ducts rectangular, and connected them like I normally do and it worked fine. So I opened the transition family, saved it as something different, and just made one of the rectangular ends, oval. It might not be the right way to do it, but it works for what I need.
