nVidia Control Panel

Ok, I do realize I am really getting my nerd on with this topic.  I noticed that there are profiles in my nVidia Control Panel for Revit, Inventor, AutoCAD and Design Review.  I am guessing these are a part of the nVidia Control Panel and at the installation of the applications, the nVidia Control Panel activates the profile.  I suspect too that there are profiles created in other graphic cards' control panels and not just nVidia.

So, the question is: Where did the profile come from?  Did nVidia just make up something that looks good -or- was Autodesk involved in the setup?  What do the settings mean? And are there any tweaks that will make Revit MEP (and the other apps) run better?

Hi,

The best would be to also ask nVidia.
Autodesk and nVidia collaborates to optimize the performance (find article here) .
You can also find an article on the nVidia site about AutoCAD, Inventor and 3DS Max (click here).

For Revit, as all the features are set to use the global settings, I guess there was no particular setting required for Revit. For other applications, you will see that some settings are set to a particular value.

Revit 2012 uses only DirectX for graphical display. Therefore all the settings about OpenGL should not have an impact on Revit.
It is difficult to say what the best option is. I think it depends also of the other hardware and how the computer is configured.
