My fill patterns appear as solid fill no matter what settings I use.

I am attempting to run a filter that will hatch my insulated ducting. No matter what scale/line spacing or type of fill pattern I change to, every time it appears as solid fill. I zoom all the way in and all the way out and it still appears as solid fill. 

Also, when I print to PDF the "pattern" completely disappears, so I am not sure if this is an issue with overscaling, but again I have tried extremely tiny scale and extremely large scale and everything in between to no success.

The filter is picking up all the correct duct I want to hatch, so I have those settings down correctly. It's just that they are solid filled and not a pattern. 

I tried googling and I watched a ton of videos, nothing has explained the problem. I have tried everything and done my due diligence and I cannot seem to solve this problem. I am fairly new to Revit so it may be an easy solution that I can't solve. These fittings I am trying to hatch are fabrication parts from my office database and not Revit families. 

I am running Revit 2020.

Sharing a portion of the model that exhibits the behavior would be the fastest route to a solution.

You seem to be confusing zoom level and view scaling but maybe that's just bad wording.

I meant that I've tried all combinations of view scaling and zoom level. Yes probably bad wording. Here is an image of my model. The lines on the red duct is from the CAD Link in the background.

If you could upload the actual .rvt file, or a stripped down version of it, then someone can open it and investigate the settings. The image doesn’t mean much. I think that’s what @RobDraw meant.

The pattern scaling on fabrication ducts seems to behave differently from other objects and either is solid fill or nothing at all depending on view scale.

When I search online all of the examples seem to be applying solid fills to fabrication ducts rather than hatch patterns.

I don't use fabrication so I'm not sure if this is the way its supposed to work.

Below are your fab duct and my Revit duct with exactly the same pattern applied.

In my testing, MEP Fab parts can only be solid-filled and will interpret any pattern as a solid fill. A bummer, but a reality.
