MS update KB3177725 breaks batch printing

Please note that we have found that Microsoft update KB3177725 will cause the batch printing functionality in Revit to fail on Windows 7 x64.

Following a Microsoft update process our users were suddenly unable to carry out batch printing in Revit. After investigation we narrowed it down to one of three Windows security updates which I then uninstalled and batch printing was working again. Reapplying the updates one by one showed it to be KB3177725 that was the culprit.

If you experience this problem you can try uninstalling this update and if it fixes the problem you will need to hide the update to prevent Windows from reapplying it on future updates.

I don't have a Windows 10 system to try this on, but I believe the corresponding update is KB3176493

Is this the "Revit was unable to connect to the printer" error? We've been getting that when batch plotting recently. Thanks for the fix!

That is the message shown in Revit - removing the KB listed above should resolve it on Windows 7, cannot verify that the Windows 10 KB is the right one as I don't have a Windows 10 system to try it on.

Oddly enough the users could still batch print to PDFs and then print those as a temporary workaround.
