Modify | Floors Sub Elements

HI

I have done Revit training with autodesk partner. I want to refresh my memory and repeat some workflows but on my Revit MEP there is some functionality missing.

Screenshot from Youtube :

My Revit :

Maybe is it because I work on MEP (Revit MEP 2016 SP2), and training was done on Architecture? My trainer could not answer my queston.

I need to modify Floor - Structural.

Thanks a lot !

Hi @Anonymous

Welcome to the community! Smiley Happy

Just to make sure, are you on Revit 2016 (Full Version) or on Revit 2016 LT (Lite)

If you are on Revit 2016 LT, then that function (Shape Editing Panel) is unfortunately not available.

Revit Architecture / Structure and MEP forms part of the same software package, basically since Revit 2016.

You'll notice Architecture / Structure and Systems tabs right at the top left, next to the "Big R".

I wanted to say that you're plan view is possibly in the incorrect Discipline (set to a discipline other than Architecture or Coordination), but that would then mean that you won't be able to select the floor in the plan view in the first place to Edit the Boundary.

I rate that you are possibly using Revit 2016 LT.

I hope this helps! Smiley Happy

Hi Rudi

Thanks for commitment!

I'm on full Revit.

It was coordination, now is set up to Architectural.

You're right, when I switch to another discipline all elements are in read-only mode.

One person from support contacted me about that. He send me a documentation to check, page 3. But after unzip I can't open that file it seems to be Java Script.

Password for archive: documentation

Still have no idea what's going on.

Thanks

Robert

Ok, so that PM was a fake message with malicious software attached.

Hi @Anonymous

Strange indeed, would it be possible to share the problematic model with me so that I could investigate it for you? Nothing in your direct settings in your properties pallet is incorrect.

Hi Rudi

of course, please find attached file.
I've installed today trial version Revit Architecture 2016 and that feature works.
On my Revit MEP 2016 is gone.

I thought that the MEP will have these features.

Thanks

Robert

Hi @Anonymous

Ahhhh yes, I know you mentioned that you were on Revit MEP in your first post and when I started to query whether you were on "full" Revit or only only LT, I was referring to "Revit 2016" as can be seen below: (My apologies for diverting).

LINK to the page where I pulled the image from or you could use Autodesk VIRTUAL AGENT to download a desired version or Revit or other Autodesk Software.

I prefer the one which I indicated above, because you'll have full functionality for all disciplines and where you would not need to shift between e.g. - Arch / MEP / Struc.

In Revit, Revit Architecture or in Revit Structure you would have access to the Shape Editing Panel, but not in Revit MEP or in Revit LT.

I hope this helps! Smiley Wink

Hi

It's sad that I don't have that feature, but I still owe You a drink.

Case closed.

Thank You

Robert

Hi @Anonymous

It's a pleasure! Smiley Wink

Why don't you go and have a chat with your ATC/Software Provider where you received your training/software from and try and arrange a License upgrade/swap to the Revit 2016 Version which I indicated? This might then also resolve a couple of future issues for you.
