MEP Fabrication Piping in Linked model.

Hi,

I currently have a project where we have received a Revit file with MEP Fabrication piping in it. When I link the file into our model, the piping shows up fine in Sections and 3D but does not appear in our floor plans. I have checked the view range, all worksets are loaded and none of the worksets are set to hide and all categories are showing, Phase mapping is correct.  If I copy some of the same elements to the model I am working on, everything shows correctly.

Does anyone know why I am not able to see the piping?

Thanks in Advanced

Sorry, without the model, I got only guesses.

Fist guess is that MEP Fabrication Pipework is turned off.

I know you said you checked that but need to verify that you have the correct category.

Sorry, not in the mood for guessing.

Did you check VG settings for the link?

How are you controlling the visibility of linked categories?

Share the model for a direct solution.

The link in every view is still set to by host view.

Because of the client, I am unable to post a model to demonstrate

Do the usual troubleshooting stuff if you haven't already. There are so many possibilities but I'm sticking with my first guess that it's in the VG settings.  Share a screen shot of the first tab, the host model at fab parts, and linked model at the same.

Try making a new plan view. Problem solved?

If not, make a view template from a different view that shows the pipe,  even if it is a different type of view. Apply that view template to the new plan view.

Hello,

Did you check if the View discipline is one of the MEP?

Also check the Top limit of the View Range, usually, when the discipline is set to any MEP ones, the MEP elements from Top to Bottom limit are shown, also from bottom to View Depth range.

I checked with mulitple views that had different disciplines assigned and experienced the same problem.

The view range was also set high enough that most if not all of the fabrication content should have been showing.

For one of the the files, we found that the piping would magically appear in reload after he placed a small piece of Revit piping within.
