Is there anyone who knows a vendor or user that can deliver a complete library of families for MEP. Our company have officies in different countries. If it is not available we are looking for partners to design the families ourself.

Hello Paul,

Here in Brazil, a supplier of pipes, named Tigre, supplied its whole lineup for Revit MEP.

You can look in www.tigre.com.br and you can donwload it after a free registration, if they didn´t change.

They also supplies the templates.

I am responsible for making all MEP families for my company, and depend on the negotiation we can consider selling them.

Happy New Year!!

Hello,

For fire protection system you can check Victaulic, Tyco. They all have good library with lot of families.

For pumps - Grundfos,Wilo,KSB,DAB pumps,TP,Econosto,Biral

For water supply and sewerage - The Librizol corporation, Tigre, Bradleycorp,Arcat, and more more

You can just check in autodesk seek , Modlar and some other revit bim web library.

I hope this will help.

Happy new year 😉

Hi all,

Thanks for your replys. It is not quite what I was looking for. What I need is a library of common symbols and 3D families for design Mechanical (HVAC and plumbing) and electrical installations. Preferably in varying levels of detail (LOD 1 to 6). For HVAC are a lot of general families available. For electrical however this is not the case.

Sorry but theres havent common library for ready to use for Revit.

In every coutry have a local regulation about symbols , details , lines and etc and its impossible to provide ready to use library with all symbols and details.

My advice is to search in web bim libraries and to collect what you need for your work.

I'll get you an example why havent Revit common library ready for use:

For EU zone - all coutries in EU zone have combine standart for working on engineering/architectural projects - but its doesnt matter every coutry have her own regulation. In this case its just impossible to provide library for all of them. Its the same all over the world.

Local example:

In USA a lot of plumbing engineers use Victaulic for fire protection systems but in Russia they are not use this parts , because they have other market products with different specification. Thats mean that you can't use one library for all projects .Its depend of coutry or region.

The solution is simple 🙂

In every coutry have Bim community and if you look for members which are located in your county you'll recive your library or help for making your own library.

A little slow way to collect you library is to visit all sites and firms that was posted in previous posts.

If you need just to create a 3d model without fully BIM awards you can just use standart families in Revit. There's have pipes,elbows.tees.reducers,ducts and etc.

Other solution is to hire some Revit users to create your own library, Its the best possible way if you need BIM with high quality of end results.

If you need some families tell us what exactly try to find and we can help you .Theres no ready to use library which is 100% compleate ,safe and working.

Tell me in you need more help about this

I hope its help

Happy new year 😉

Hi, I was already afraid that this would be the case but still I hoped for a content service organization who had responded to this. So the only solution is to make a library set up and maintain this by our self. Unfortunate everyone is working for themselves and do double work.

Hi (Winsis32),

Our projects are around the whole world (Europe, Asia, Russia, etc.).

In our company we work with European Standards (Language English / metric system).
For MEP we use Revit (latest version) in combination with application Magicad (this is from a Dutch software vendor called Itannex)

Our family's needs to be standard according Autodesk Library Guidance.
On internet I found a site MEPcontent.eu

This site is owned by a Dutch software vendor Stabibase.
They also wrote a standard for naming families.
On the site there are only families from some European MEP manufacturers.
It is far from complete.

We need families for all the detail levels and we prefer common families.

Maybe we can corporate to define a standard.

Autodesk Seek

Bim Object

MEP Content

are just 3 sites with over 70.000+ objects for you to use.

There are some addins made by the suppliers that are worth looking at aswell.
I like Lindab, Exhausto & Swegon for ventilation.

I hope you find what you seek.

Best Regards

If you need an addin for lighting calculations, ElumTools comes with a nice set of lighting fixtures.
