Mechanical Equipment Schedule not Populating

Hey guys,

So I am pretty new to Revit and could use some guidance in scheduling. Our company purchased a third-party productivity pack that came with premade schedules. This pack also came with a Master Shared Parameters file (.txt). I loaded the parameters that were in the schedule into my RTU family and only a few of the columns populated. The file that I uploaded here contains the RTU family and the schedule that I am trying to make work together.  I am guessing I have some settings wrong or have the wrong parameters, but anything would help at this point. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello,

It seems that the parameters in the family and in the schedule are not the same.

I the image below, you can see that the same parameter name appears more than one time.

If you paid for this template, please complain to the supplier.

And that is why we do not use Downloaded content in my office unless absolutely necessary. That family is way too over burdened by parameters. id guess 80% of them you wont even use. That family has over 280 parameters in it and the schedule has over 180 parameters (148 of which are Hidden).

  • some of the parameters that are not filling in are Location Name and Location Number these are Calculated Values with imbedded IF statements looking at other parameters to fill in [if(Use Space Identity Overrides, Space: Name Override, Space: Name)]. if those other 3 parameters are not filled in correctly it wont populate.
  • others like Equipment Services are text parameters. if the filed is not manually filled in in the properties, it will show blank.

id encourage you to learn how to make your own families. That RHU could be made in 20min or less.

When you start your schedule there is the Filter List. Make sure only Mechanical is selected and continue as you were.. schedule

That is irrelevant to this post - the problem is multiple parameters with the same name.

Manufacturers are very guilty of re-creating their own parameters with the same name as built-in parameters - Size is the favourite one for them, I've had projects with maybe seven Size parameters listed so you need to figure out which one of the parameters in the list is the one actually used in the family.
