Managing Detail Groups

Hi All

I'm currently setting up some company standard schematics in revit using the drafting view. To create components or 'blocks' I have been creating detail groups of lines, these are then further grouped to create a system (see the pictures for clarity). However this is becoming problematic as I have an ever growing list of detail groups and it is becoming a pain to find the components I need quickly. Is there any way I can manage or  sub divide my groups and make it easier to find what i'm looking for? Also I have been told i have to keep all the groups in the same revit file and not create an external library as I would with 3D Families.

What about adding another level to your naming convention?  Right now you use "E - Conductor".  You could use "E-XX-Conductor"  replace the XX with some type of sub-category.  We use

E-Ri-xxxx

E-Po-xxxx

E-Li-xxxx

just an idea.
