Laying Pipe

Anonymous
Not applicable
When I am placing pipe I lay it out and then try to alter the dimensions to make it fit (between pile caps, etc). But inevitably, other dimensions change that I don't want to change. For example I drew a pipe from the intersection of grid crossings to an estimated point of entry under the building, made a turn to go under the building and dimensioned the pipe from the pile caps. I then adjusted the dimension from the pile cap and instead of changing the length of the first run and keeping the starting point the same, Revit (MEP 2009) moved the whole piping system the by the difference in the dimension. I have tried to align the end of the pipe to the grid lines but that's not happening. It tries to align the pipe centerline to the grid, not just the end point.
