Invert Level snapping to the middle of the pipe and not the bottom

Hi all,

When I place a pipe and set the invert level, the invert level snaps to the middle of the pipe.

Even if you set the vertical justification to be at the bottom in the properties tab it still snaps to the middle. Is there a way that you can get it to snap to the bottom of the pipe?

How are you able to set the invert level?

Choices are Middle, Bottom and Top elevations - Invert is then calculated (by Revit) from the bottom elevation and the pipe wall thickness but the value is greyed out and can't be typed?

Ultimately what are you trying to achieve - are you trying to create a run of pipe which is level on the bottom?

Yes we are trying to set the invert level to the bottom of the pipe.

The Invert Elevation is the bottom of the inside of the pipe wall.

The Bottom Elevation (or Lower End Bottom Elevation depending on version) is the bottom of the outside of the pipe.

You can set the Bottom Elevation and the pipe will place at that elevation, but you can't set the Invert directly  - you would need to adjust the bottom elevation to take account of pipe wall thickness in order to end up with the invert that you want.
