IFC quantities

Hello guys,

I would like to know if there's a way to get quantities take off of MEP elements from an IFC file without losing all the much needed information?
For example, when I open the quantity take off of ducts, the length, width and other information are empty. How can I retrieve this kind of element characteristics in an IFC file?

Hi. Mohammed kassir,

yes you can Get Those value in Schedule/Quantity Which is related to MEP Elements if your IFC model Export with "IFC2x2 Coordination View" Setup Only

cause This Setup Export all Revit Properties with IFC Model!

Thank Link IFC file to your Revit Project than follow these Steps Below

1. Binned IFC Link to your Current project.

2. Select the Element (Individual) check there properties and See What is the name of parameter which you want to show in Schedule See Belo Pic-01

3. and Add in Field Option See Pic Below Pic-02

Thank you Furqan for your answer but it's not working. I believe that my question wasn't very clear.
I have received an IFC file that I opened using Revit 2017. But the element properties (fields information like size, length, width and much more) are empty in my schedule. I'm aware that this is because of the way the IFC was exported. But I was wondering if there's a way to work around this problem.

You have to request the company that supplies the IFC file to export with a proper setting.

If the IFC is exported from PDMS model then the IFC is imported to Revit, Is it possible to get the quantities from the IFC model?

Use Open IFC to convert IFC into Revit file, then link this Revit file, you will be able to extract quantities from it.
