Assigning thermal properties to inserted components

I am trying to place a piece of equipment (for example a Biofreezer) in a room that I wish to perform heating and cooling load calculations on. Is there a way to insert a component AND give it thermal properties like the dissipated load in BTU/hr and have Revit account for it during the heating and cooling load calculations?

You can only account for heating loads afaik.

Have a look for a post by Martin Schmitt on the subject in the thread linked below for a workaround:

Hi.

  • You need to enable Spaces calculations in the Manage> Mep Settings> Eletrical Settings> Load Calculation> Run Calculations for loads in spaces

Like on image.

You can configure the loads on this page as well.

  • The Family must have a power connector;

 And when clicking on the space you must select the "Current" option in "Eletrical Loads";

I hope I helped you

Best regards.
