Revit calculates Heating and cooling loads based on load, looking to find away calculate CFM based on volume of space. Is there a way to do such a thing. Maybe a API?

Thanks.

iceman1849,

You can do so by simply multiplying the volume of a space by the air changes required in each space type. Simply create a key schedule with a parameter called "Space_Air Changes Per Hour" or something similar. Next add a row for each of the space types in use. Assign the air change values to each space type listed in this key schedule. Next create a space schedule with the following fields: Name, Number, Space Style, Space_Air Changes Per Hour, and Volume. Note the "Space Style" parameter may be called something different as you are prompted to update this value when creating a key schedule. Nonetheless, if you are unsure simply open the key schedule and look for the parameter called " Parameter Name" in the properties palette. Once the space schedule is created, you will notice that some if not all of the fields under the "Space Style" column display as "(none)." Simply click in each cell and select the appropriate key number that belongs to each space. As you begin assigning the key numbers, you will notice the fields under "Space_Air Changes Per Hour" column to begin to update. These values are being driven by what was specified in the key schedule. The last step would be to add a calculated value which multiplies the parameters "Volume" with "Space_Air Changes Per Hour."

Note: Remember to keep an eye on the units of measurement as it may cause some errors.

Below is an example of what you should end up with:

Hope this helps.

Jonathan,

Which category must be selected when creating the "Space_Air Changes Per Hour" key schedule? and does the key name matter?

Javi,

You must select Spaces as the category for the key schedule and no the key name does not matter.

Hope this helps.

Jonathan,

Thanks for the quick reply, I'm having difficulty achieving the ACH for the room based on the CFM total of that room. Maybe I'm missing a step or not understanding correctly. Would you mind doing a step by step please?
