How do I attach connections to a AutoCAD 3d model imported into Revit

I have quite a number of 3d models created in AutoCAD and want to import into Revit to create families. How do I attach a connection, pipe, electrical, etc. to the model once its into Revit.

Hello,

If your file uses solids, it is possible to attach connectors to the faces.

But I don´t recommend you to use DWG files, if you have time, it worths to import the DWG file, and use it as a reference to model using Revit.

Then remove the DWG and purge the family, check the line styles too, you may need to delete some lines, they have a IMPORTED preffix.

Modeling in Revit will lead you to a smaller family file! If you have no time, it´s OK to use the DWG, but remember that it may slow down your model performance.
