So I am trying find a way with out a paid add on to place hangers on conduit runs.

  1. I would like to be able to attach a hanger family to the bottom of conduit with out putting in a elevation.
  2. would like to know if there is away to do a array on hangers that would take the path of the conduit.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Then you could create a face based family. However you would still have to add elevations. Because the family probably will need values to stretch it up to the ceiling/roof/floor.

An array in Revit is always straight or circular. An array can not follow a path.

If you do not wan to spend the money you could write your own add-in. Or have a look at Dynamo. There probably are some scripts out there that can help. Have a look at the Dynamo forum for this.

But having to do this on regular basis a paid add-in might be a good ROI.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

How often do you need to model supports?  An add-in could save you countless hours if it's something you do often.

or create his own hanger model plus create a Dynamo script that let's him copy or array the said hangers by picking spline or line.

This sounds like a good idea I have a hanger family I just need to know how to do the script in dynamo or as a macro.
