Equipment families with symbol annotation on floor plan approach

I wanted to know generally how professionals Revit users approach creation of families. Often we need to have annotations or simple symbols on plans instead of complex device geometry. Creating complex 3d model, coarse, medium and high level of detail containing simple lines for each plan, section seems to be very time consuming.

Nest an annotation family in your 3D family and toggle the visibility so that the 3D elements only appear when view resolution is set to fine.

Hello,

Best practise is to model the geometry as simple as you can and on the 2D views draw a detailed representation of the family as 2D lines. However this is mainly related to the client and the LOD matrix.

Kindly if this solved your issue "Mark as solution" to help others.
