Devices missing from dependent views

Weirdest thing I've encountered so far. I have a Communication device that appears in a parent view but not in the dependent view. I have followed the list here Missing Something in a Revit View? 33 Steps to Find Stuff | Ideate Inc  but since the view that's not showing the device was copied as a dependent, all the settings are the same between the two views. This has only appeared to happen with one type of device but it's happened with every instance of that device and so far the only thing that seems to work is using Create Similar to place the same device in the dependent view and then editing it's location to match the original in the parent view. There are at least 50 of these devices and I just want to know if there's a way to fix this by view or if what I'm doing is the only way.

Do not add additional devices just because you can't see the original.

A dependent view does not necessarily have to have the same settings as the parent. I would look closer at the view settings and overrides. If you still can't find the difference, you should share the model for examination.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Manually hiding elements in view is independent among dependent views.

Hello @dnfosterLFKRH.,

Do you see them when you disable de crop view?

What happens if you edit the family and change the Revit catogory to for instance Generic Model and then load it back into your project? does that help?

then change it back and see what happens.

Maybe there is something wrong with that family.

As @robert.klempau stated, this has been my experience when things start to disappear only in the dependent view. There must be some sort of extents to your family that kicks it out of the dependent boundary thus not showing up.

May be a stretch, but is it an actual Device family your placing or just Annotation/Tag? If you open the family, what is its category set to?

Can you upload the family for us to look at?

I've seen this where a ceiling was in the way but only hid the symbol occasionally, with no particular rhyme or reason to it. Make the ceiling 100% transparent, if there is one, and it should magically appear.
