I have a problem where I need to make changes to a revit 2015 mep model but I have revit mep 2017. I dont want to open the model in 2017 because then it will update it and all the other disciplines working on this model wont be able to open it.
Is it possible for me to make a copy of the model, open it in 2017, make the changes to the pipework, then when i get to my computer which has revit 2015 I can open the original model and copy and paste the pipework from the copied 2017 model into it.
I hope this makes sense....
Any help appreciated.
No, Revit is not backwards compatible.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
From standard Revit this is not possible. Revit is not backwards compatible.
Maybe if you're a bit creative you could work around this via Dynamo, but I'd strongly advise against it, seeing as this is way more tedious and accidentprone than just getting Revit 2015. Not to mention the hours of work you'll invest and the amount of work you need to redo after it to check if everything went correctly.
