Can’t rotate element into this position.

Hi,

When attempting to rotate an element (family) in an orientation other than "facing the construction plane", rotation is impossible. The message "Can’t rotate element into this position." is displayed.

See video below :

Cet élément ne peut pas faire l'objet d'une rotation dans cette position

I can't find a solution to resolve that. This family comes from a manufacturer, you will find it in attachment.

Does someone know how to resolve that, and why it is happening? (wrong reference plane, family parameter to change,...)?

Best regards

Etienne

Nothing needs to be done to the family because it is built properly.  You just need to create ref planes in project to host the family, rotate the ref plane and the family will follow.

Thank you for your answer, this seems to work!

Anyway, is there a way to allow movement "in 3D", without limitation, for that family? (by suppressing the "link" to an host, or so...)

But my family is created in generic model.rfa, not face hosted.....

My silencer is side in end out, I want to rotate/mirror my side in to the opposite side

Hello,

In the family properties, you can check workplane based and uncheck always vertical to try.
