Automatic pipe sizing errors

Hi,

when, automatically,  sizing a water supply piping system with water heater in, always generate error. once the water heater is removed all are fine. any one can help

Hi @merhef.asc, can you share the Water Heater family that you are working with? I believe something might be calculating incorrectly from the piping connector(s) within the Water Heater family.

it is out of the box Revit family, I have tried more than one family  but same issue. here it is.

Can you post a quick screencast of what it's doing? Also, what content are you drawing with, Generic revit families, Revit fab parts, or a custom content pack such as building data?

Edit the water heater family as follows:-

  • Create an instance flow parameter for hot water and assign it to the hot water outlet connector.
  • Create an instance flow parameter for cold water and assign it to the cold inlet connector.
  • For the cold water flow parameter insert a formula to make it equal the hot water flow parameter.

Reload the family into your project.

Flow should now pass through the water heater with the correct values.
