View Reference for elements in Properties

View Reference for elements in Properties

Can the elements in Revit have an Instance & Type Parameter to Refer views such as Detail views, Drafting views, Sheets. This feature can help to show or get the details of elements within Revit when we click on the view reference in the properties. not by tagging view reference using Annotation. This will help in documentation & visualization.

I'm a little bit confused as to what you are asking but I think you are saying that you want a "referenced by" parameter that lists the callout locations that reference the view you are looking at?

If you have a detail view and you have the main callout for it plus several other that reference it using "reference other view" you want to see these as a list in the properties when you are in that view itself?

Hi Mr. Mike. Form, The Advisor. Thanks for your valuable time to reply to my idea. As you see there is a parameter to find elements or views by Rt. Clicking mouse button in the canvas & find in project browser, it would be much better to have a reference parameter for elements to go to the detail or drafting or section or callout views. This parameter can be both instance & Type parameter. To brief with an example,

Let's say there are two different types of Fabricated Furniture with different detail. In this scenario, we are in the 3d view & want to access the (detail view or callout or sheets or some other document) of the mentioned particular element. So, we have to scroll through a bunch of views (In large projects each type of views may be more than average 300+) to get to the particular required view. Having a parameter like Hyperlink or something similar to URL parameter, would make it much easier to navigate or to print or other functions.

Thankyou

I think I understand what you are asking. There is currently something that basically does this in revit already.

If you select an item and right click --> then find referring views it will give you a list of all views that show that item.
