Scheduling Revision Clouds

Scheduling Revision Clouds

It would great if you could schedule revision clouds. You can add a comment to each cloud for the changes that occur and then schedule them by drawing number.

I'm in support of this also!

Still supported most of the way through 2019. . .

Yes please. I don't really get the 'gathering support' process. It is necessary and the licenses are so expensive you should be able to fulfill any of the users' requests.

I'm in support of a revision cloud export (or schedule) feature!

Just chiming in to say this would be a time saver if Revit would implement. In the interim using Dynamo.

MeanWhile.. i have to extract all RevisionClouds (by the API), get their "comments" and find on which "sheet number" it is, and export it to excel for the team.

its time to add this feature in Revit.

This would be a very helpful and time saving feature!

The fact that Autodesk would provide a "Comments" parameter with the revision cloud tool but not allow you to actually use it blows my mind... also that this request has been active for more than 3 years now and yet failed to be implemented in the 2021 release is just disappointing. Tracking changes with descriptions should be so simple to program. This must get implemented somehow.

I agree- it seems like I have been waiting a long time for this. I wonder if it has become a bone AD threw to a partner to support capitalization of an add-in.

Aww man, I just dreamed up and started to implement a tracking system for items that need to be followed up on throughout a project using the revision system. I assumed, schedule the comments, get the sheet they are on, place on start up screen, everyone knows what still needs to be followed up

BOOOOOOO! Can't do it natively. this definitely needs to be a feature in revit. I don't want to have to rely on a tool or dynamo to do this.

There’s a useful tool for Revit on the Autodesk App Store that was just published by The Toolbelt Company that lets one comment and schedule on Revit’s revision clouds and then export to excel. Very simple UI UX.

@mkipfer , Thanks for the heads up.

This tool should be free though, and provided by Autodesk inside of revit. It's a natural part of the revisioning system. You cloud a revision you describe it, you include it in a write up summary that goes along with the contractor as part of the contract documentation.

Just piggybacking off all the previous comments to add this feature as I just came here in search of how to do this.  When working in a project with multiple people, this is crucial.

The problem is that this thread only has 106 votes. Everyone interested in this feature needs to sell it to the rest of the community and get them in here to vote it up. Otherwise the factor won't pay attention to it. It's still only in the gather support stage. 😞

Agreed, voted! Your voice... your vote 😆

Agreed.  My firm issues a listed narrative of all revisions in Supplemental Instructions.  Often this involves responses to specific RFIs that need to be kept track of for the contractor.  I've been keeping this information in the Comment parameter thinking that I could schedule them.

This is a required feature for a documentation program! Contractors require drawing change registers, so do Project Managers & Quantity Surveyors. Architects are asked all the time to provide them (but we are forced to do them manually using excel or word etc), hence the absolute requirement that this should be a feature of Revit! The information is there, the families are compatible but without purchasing a separate license to run 3rd party software, we simply cant schedule our revision cloud comments & revisions! Its so frustrating to read that this is a feature that should have been a part of Revit for at least the last decade! I think its poor form from Autodesk to not have such a simple & required feature for a documentation program.
