Rebar Shape Detail command

Rebar Shape Detail command

Rebar Shape Detail command is a very useful function that enables you to see exact dimensions and shape of any drawn rebar in 2D view. Unfortunately it is still not implemented in Revit.

This type of detailing is already available through Revit extensions like Graitec, Sofistik, and others. Sadly, not in Revit itself ... yet.

Hi Revit users,....feel free to give your kudos to support this feature!

Thanks!

I believe this is an absolute MUST! It would be the best Revit improvement since the creation of the rebar command.

That would be an awesome and useful feature. It's actually a common feature in other structural engineering applications. I have been trying with Dynamo for some time. I hope this gets implemented ASAP.

Vote up for this feature, folks! It's the only way to tell Autodesk how important this is! Better yet, Autodesk should buy such detailing software all-together. This feature was widely available in Advance Concrete. Don't understand why Autodesk closed AC without implementing this feature in Revit.

I want this to. We really need this!

It's not that hard right?

I found a partial solution here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-structure-forum/reinforcement-plans-rebar-presentation-and-sche.... I would still prefer a official (professional) solution from Autodesk. If regular users are able to do this much, i'm sure Autodesk can do (much) better.

We do need this

I think it's quite slow to update the new features that users really need

Some features can really help us out not to waste our time

Just like this one

I have a suspicion that these features won't be solved nor will they be implemented in Revit 2019. Autodesk is in serious partnership with Sofistik and this would mean sticking a knife in their partner's back. Although this would also prove Autodesk's dedication to it's customers.

Our voices should matter. It's a shame that they probably don't.
I hope I'm wrong about this.

Revit 2019 is out. This feature is still unaccepted. How disappointed!

Guys check this web site

There are four videos and I'm sure you are gonna like this

I hope we can have this in Revit

Hi Autodesk developers! Is rebar shape command or something similar on your radar any time soon???

Hi,

I found this from GRAITEC!

Please Autodesk Revit developers, ....if 3rd party software firms can do this why are you waiting!!!

Because GRAITEC is Autodesk's partner. If Autodesk does what GRAITEC has done, it will be lose - lose for them. Autodesk wastes time doing what their partner has done well, GRAITEC's features are then sold with Revit. Then users like us won't buy GRAITEC products.

We shouldn't need to buy Graitec products or Sofistik products or other tools. Revit is advertised as a complete package for BIM but without paid add-ons it doesn't get the job done. Right now I'm at least twice as fast with drawing the reinforcement plans with all possible detailing and schedules in Autocad then in Revit. Revit is far from ideal when it comes to reinforcement detailing, without add-ons it's impossible to make usable schedules. In my country (Serbia) the schedules need to have images of the rebars with dimensions for every segment, that's not possible in Revit.

Autodesk should be open and upfront tell the customers that Revit is just a half BIM tool and if they want the real thing then pay an extra 1000€/year.

Autodesk, think about your customers. Without satisfied customers the software will slowly die and your business with it. Customer always comes first, keep that in mind!

From my point of view Autodesk did a huge mistake discontinuing ASD and AC packages before making Revit fully "capable" for reinforcement design. Right now, drawing rebar in Revit consumes to much time compared to standard ACAD add-ons. Rebar schedules are only partially ok if you use standard shapes (with preset images), but when you have to draw custom stirrups or custom rebar forms than you are in trouble.

One other thing that's annoying me is wasting time to prepare rebar schedules for printing, especially when I have more than 500 different rebar numbers. Just imagine how much time is needed to setup 500+ rebar numbers on A4 sheets.....in Autodesk CAD add-ons it was automatically done.

...and one more thing...

If I pay for Revit licence and subscription than I want it fully functional. If Autodesk discontinues something that we used for years and suddenly says from now on you have to use Revit with half ACAD add-ons possibilities than it is just wrong.....

I do not want SOFISTIK, GRAITEC, etc. I just want what I paid for......REVIT.
