Infinite Ground Plane

Infinite Ground Plane

Camera views should have a ground plane toggle.  When this is turned on, it would effectively hide everything below zero.  This would allow users to create quick and easy 3D perspectives of their buildings that do not show the stem walls, footings, underground pipes, etc. without going to the trouble of creating a toposurface.

I think that a flat plane at any elevation would prove troublesome with all but the flattest of sites. I use a topo surface with its projection lines set to white in V/G by view.

The idea of the plane is purely graphical. It is not intended to represent actual topography. The vast majority of projects I work on do have a flat ground floor so it would really work quite well.

I remember V-ray had this feature a good 15 years ago.
