In my opion does it save a lot of time when it is possible to set up the interface (panels and tabs) with the functionality you really need for your use of Revit. You should be able to filter out all those add-ins and panels you don't use and you should be able to place the panels/tabs you do use in a logical order.
It is possible to rearrange the menu tabs and the panels by holding down the CTRL key while dragging the tab or the bottom of the panel.
