Fix mechanical equipment category glitch

Mechanical equipment families have long been subject to an intermittent glitch which causes the power circuit information not to map from the connector properties to the family properties.  I know AD has been made aware of this and has thus far not fixed it.  Please please figure out what causes this behavior and make it stop.

I have found this happens when the family is loaded into the project with no electrical connector.
When the electrical connector is subsequently added to the family it does not map the data in the way you described.
There may be other reasons besides this.

Huh, it's always been the opposite for me - ME downloads some mfr family with all of the connectors already in it and the electrical one never works.  The only way I've ever been able to fix it is to edit the family, delete the connector, save it under a new name, open the new family, create a new connector, save over the original family, delete the original one from the project entirely, save/compact the model, open the model, load the revised family.  That process has roughly a 90% success rate, but there have been a few AHU/RTU families that just would not work no matter what I did.  If the MEs give me their families to test and revise (and add our corporate standard shared parameters for schedule compatibility) I can make anything work though.

HI Ben,

You mean circuit properties like Panel and Circuit? I assume your connector properties like voltage and load are drawn from family type parameters? So sometimes things like panel and circuit will not come through to your mech device schedules?

I work in an electrical only firm and use a bunch of generic families to model just about all mechanical devices. I have never seen a glitch like that, but maybe you mean something different.
