I'm imagining being able to create a separate 3D (or 2D) view of one family that is loaded into the project without having to put it in the project. (Or rather, without having to be looking at the project.) Instead of a project view, this could be called a Family View.
In many structural projects there are small families such as embed plates and base plates that need to be drawn separately in an isolated detail view. Our company makes 2D and 3D details of such objects. In order to do that,
the 3D views have to to be in a separate model that only has the embeds. We then create the views within that model and lock them. That model is loaded into the actual projects as required.
How my life would be simplified with this capability!
