I'm all for reducing the number of steps (mouse clicks) to save time for carrying out common task. In most cases when I place a section I'm going to want to change the far clip offset.
I also don't see a downside to being able to do this while placing rather than placing and then changing.
Instead of two clicks for drawing a section line when creating a new section, it would be much better to have 3 clicks, the first two click would be for drawing the section line, and then the third click would be for setting the Far Clip Offset.
So instead of just drawing a section line, you would be drawing a rectangle.
That way you get the right Far Clip Offset at once, so you dont have to adjust it later. That would save a lof of time.
