Virtual Reality for Revit

Not sure if I've put this in the wrong part of the forum but I just wanted to ask what software are people using to turn a Revit model into Virtual Reality. It is possible for me to get my hands on some high end VR Goggles such as the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift. Just wanted to know what software is easy to use and if possible offers some customization such as having information pop up on screen or changing finishes within the VR environment.

Thanks in advance.

Hello, John

As of this moment, there are several options out there for using a VR Headset with Revit. I did some research about these options, and I have listed them below:

https://revitpure.com/blog/bring-your-revit-model-to-virtual-reality

https://enscape3d.com/

https://www.irisvr.com/

You can try any of these, or another one if you find one that suits you better.

Thank you, I have looked into these all I just wanted to see what other people think is the best solution. Does the Revit to 3ds Max to Stingray workflow preserve materials and textures? And I feel like Live is still a ways off from being a useful solution. The trial didn't work well for me.

What we really need is direct VR support within Revit.

I want to walk around the model & edit members/elements on the fly, not just export a static model.

Some of the ones that DanFaba suggested will let you do that I'm just not sure how valuable the experience and how difficult it is to get it working.

You can find a new VR software : Meshroom Studio. Suitable with most of the CAD software and 3D files used in the industry (3DSMAX, Rhino, Solid, Autodesk,…). Powerful and very simple, you can visualize at scale 1 your project with a HTC Vive. Customize the 3D model (create and edit materials) and create your own virtual showroom. One of the best and affordable VR solution.

A free demo is available on the website here

Hope this helps!

Would this help? "Stereo Panorama render in Revit & Virtual Reality": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lKJb3EXMpI&list=PLnQTukI1DJvxNdsqZ3AwM0Mmd95A5WX1l&index=3

This video shows how we can create a Stereo Panorama image and how we can send it to a cellphone to see it in Virtual Reality mode.
