Wrong in the calculation of Area

Hello,

I create a schedule in order to have the surface for each material. But when I calculate the surface manually I have other result than revit.

In the attachment you will find the schedule. For example for the number 1. I have 1.42*3.0760=4.37 and not 4.15m ^2. In the second attachment you will find the structure of the wall.

P.s. the wall doesn't contain any opening.

Could you show some plan views of the walls? And a section?

Are there other elements joined with the wall? This could also cut aways material.

The wall that I checked is in the attachment. 

But I found the same problem in almost the all walls..

What's the difference between "Mur Brique Ciment avec finition - 150mm 4" and "Mur Brique Ciment avec finition - 150mm 5"? (and all the others?)

when a membrane layer is applied twice on a wall, with the same material, these layers are added up in a schedule. That could explain why some area's are twice as large as you think they should be.

You are comparing Length x Unconnected Height to Material Area which is Length (inclusive any + or - due to joined geometry) x connected/actual height ... therefore the difference 

For the other added-up/cumulative area try the option “itemize every instance”

the difference between the walls are the layer of materials that I have [see the attachment].

Which is the difference between the actual/unconnected height? I think that I have the same vale in both of them.

In Type 5 you have 2 membrane layers with the exact same material. Revit does not measure these as seperate layers, that's way these materials seem to be calculated double. But it's just Revit combining the 2 layers (I know, Revit is stupid for doing this).

Duplicate your material (add "interior" and "exterior" to the names) and reassign the materials in wall 5. You'll see that Revit will now count those membrane layers as individual layers and the material area will be correct.

The material is the same in this case so I don't have problem if it is double after in the schedule.

My problem is in the case that the material is unique and the result for the Area isn't correct (as in the first images that I attached).

I think @RDAOU is correct. The 'Unconnected Height' is not necessarily the height of the wall if it is attached or otherwise edited. You have that section of the wall. Measure to see if it is actually 307.6 high. It may be shorter if it is attached to the floor above (which may have been done unintentionally if 'yes' was selected after the floor creation prompt 'would you like walls that go up to this floor's level to attach to its bottom?')

One easy way to check the reported area vs. manually calculated area is to add a calculated parameter to the schedule, which simply multiplies the length x unconnected height. For totally easy checking, create another calculated parameter reporting the difference between the reported area and calculated area.

I measure the height of the walls and the valus is the same with the Unconnected height.

If I create a calculate parameter (length x unconnected height) I suppose that it  will not be the same with the area as I have place doors/windows.

But I will try it!
