Windows in a Stacked Wall

Hi all. I have stacked walls in my family which include a brick/2x6 wall, a rowlock section, and a standard 2x6 wall on the top. I have windows which cut through all three wall sections, and my question is this: can I get them to not stick out the distance of the rowlock section?

To get the window to cut through all three wall sections I have to specify the rowlock section as the primary host wall, however, this means it sticks out the thickness of the rowlock on the 2x6 section. This is not how the the window will look in real life obviously. Can Revit cut through all three sections while staying flush with all three sections? Any help is much appreciated!!

You mean inset?  Most window families have an inset parameter.

Not sure about the inset comment. But now I am totally lost. I re-selected the topmost 2x6 wall in the stacked wall assembly as the host for the window and now it cuts through all three parts of the wall assembly... A door, on the other hand, does not do this, and has the same issue sticking out past the 2x6 wall.... I have attached another picture of what I mean.

You might be better off using a Void Cut instead of the Opening Cut the Family, and extending the Void Cut beyond the Host.  Place a checkmark in "Cuts with Void when Loaded", load the family into Project, place on main wall and use the Cut Tool to cut both openings .

@Anonymous: Select your Door and click on Pick New Host on the Contextual Tab -- and then select the Main Wall.

This was completly it. I created a new door family with a void extrusion which ran a foot on either side of the door (interior and exterior), and made this value parametric in case I needed to adjust it later on. Then I reselected the 2x6 wall as my primary host and it worked perfectly, cutting through all three layers. Thank you!
