Windows and doors family (forcing hidden parameters)

I noted recently that there are some parameters for the windows and doors which i cant find in the family file of the element, so i need to know from where they came and how i control them or use them in the element family, for example to make a formula using them to adjust the height of the window or door.

these parameters are the ( sill height and head height)

hello from Spain
It could be possible that these parameters had been created during a sketch.
If you constrain a dimension within a sketch, it could be not visible / editable out of the sketch.

Also, check if these parameters are marked as editable.

see attached...... some of our doors and windows show this (or like this) parameter. not sure where it comes from. some times its called 'default head height'

also i think revit derives these for itself when you place the element refering to the family reference level and the level used to place it

Sill Height and Height Height are instance parameters automatically generated when a door or a window placed in project.  They are not family parameters.  However, you can add your own parameters in the family to report the same value.  If you can clarify exactly what formula that you need these value in then we can provide some further insight.  My initial thought is that they are not necessary to be added in the family.

What i mean is that i need to create a formula to input the sill and the head height and it automatically generate the window height

i think that this would lead to circular logic as sill height and head height are calculated by revit when you insert family. you can probably do what you want if you install two new instance parameters named differently and appropriately.......

Hello,

i have the same problem. Our construction system is based on altitude raster of 91mm (https://jubhome.eu/en/systems/jubhome-wall/description/). So it is very important to know wher to put window. For example:

Sill Height = (round (Desired Sill Height+Floor build up / 91mm) * 91mm) - Floor build up

I tried with new labels and parameters but it does not work.

Thanks
