why do elements not move freely when copying?

im sure this is simple... very annoying... sometimes when copying a detail element, when i copy and drag, it only moved up and down or left and right.. other times... i can copy and move the item where ever i want to .  why is that??

maybe:

• Constraint option is activated

• or because of the Snap : Manage > Settings> Snaps ...try to check Snaps Off

i thought it was snaps... been trying to figure out what i did wrong.. turns out it was just the contraints... thank you.....
