Why are my revit files showing up as pdf files

Good Morning,

i am having some trouble with my 2015 revit. All of my family files are pdf and the program will not let me insert them. can anyone help

Do you mean your files icons are showing as pdf? Because *.rfa won't turn into *.pdf by themselves spontaneously.

You might have associated all .rfa to open with Adobe Acrobat maybe?

@RDAOU, even if he did it, the *.rfa files still open in Revit as long as he didn't mess with the files codes. It's just an icon change.

I thought he might be trying to open them using double click (like that other post) before inserting/loading into project...Otherwise!!!! how would the file extension change from .rfa to .pdf!!!! (definitely not on it's own I would say)
