Hello all,

I have been a Revit user for the last 3 years, I had Revit 2016 installed in my computer. I had format my PC as it was not working properly. I downloaded Revit 2016 again and now I cant find revit library, but I can find Autodesk Revit Library in control panel!

I found the path of Liibrary installed in C/program data, but many of the components such as annotations, door, windows etc. are missing.

Can anyone tell me why I'm facing such issue?

It's really important please answer asap!

Yours

Hi there.

Maybe something happend during the instalation.

Try to search the Autodesk Download Manager in your computer. There, reinstall your featurings and be sure that the Autodesk Content Libraries is marked.

If your problem has been solved, please click on Accept as Solution. Then others users can take benefit of it.

We are still trying to identify why a number of Revit users are still experiencing problems with the installation of Revit content files. Before getting into troubleshooting, if you only intend to install US Imperial and/or US Metric content, my first suggestion would be to use the Download Now option instead of the Install Now option. The Download Now option includes the CAB files from which the Revit content files are extracted and this eliminates the need to download these files during the installation process.

For those that continue to experience Revit content installation problems, the next thing to check would be the existence of the master.rvt.xml (master.rlt.xml if you are installing Revit LT) and master.xsd files in your <INSTALLATION_MEDIA>\Content\Revit folder. If these files are missing, the list of available content packs will not be populated and consequently no content packs are selected for installation. For those of you that encounter this problem, I've attached a few zip files from which the appropriate version of these files can be extracted. Once the missing files have been restored, try launching the Revit installation again and expand the Revit Content Libraries product entry when you get to the Configure Installation page.

If you are still experiencing the problem at this point, it would be helpful if you could provide answers to the following questions:

  1. What operating system, including language, is running on this computer?
  2. What is the home location setting on this computer? The answer to this question can be accessed through the Clock, Language, and Region settings in the Windows Control Panel.
  3. Which content packs are you selecting for installation? To answer this question, expand the Revit Content Libraries product entry on the Configure Installation page.
  4. Is Revit being installed from physical media (DVD or USB), web installer, download manager, or browser download? If you are installing Revit from an Autodesk suite, which one?
