well it depends. but I think you are trainig to do a material take off and not a quantity take off since you say that for windows works. Create take offs is not that simple in revit unless you are modeling the project your self, then it definetly is!!!.
Having the right wall layers, wall thickness ( depending what kind of take off/wall assembly), correct plate heights, correct end gable walls, and other parts and pieces are what makes revit take off super fast and efficient.
