Walls don't join properly

Hello,

When I try to draw 8" cmu foundation walls over my "brick on stud" walls (Hidden) they dont join properly.

Whereas when I just draw them in the open, they join fine (L shaped wall).

Is the wall that I am using as a reference (Brick on stud) causing this.

This has caused me problems for a long time and today I want to ask if anyone knows a good way to solve?

Thanks!

When you draw a Walls does "Join Status" on the Options Bar read "Allow"?

Thank you Barth.

I had not used that command/tool before but it still didn't give me the result I am looking for.

This is the best I could get even by trim/extending.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks!

So, it looks like the walls are not joined. Exactly what you said. But you say that they are joined. Is that right?  What does the Join Wall Tool have to say about that?  Use the tool and tab-select the corners.  Or can't you?

Maybe posting the file would be best.

So, Using the join walls tool did not do anything.

I tried joining component tool and it did seem to join the two walls and then i could drag one or both ends to line the ends together (And or use align tool)

I am happy enough with that.

Thank you very much!

Set the foundation walls shorter so they don't touch the bottom of the walls above, use Wall join tool to allow join, then change them back to the original height.

In the future, edit the cmu wall type and set it to Foundation in properties, draw them using Structural wall tool so they are drawn using Depth instead of Height.
