Unbinding links doesn't work

What's the best way of putting an existing project into a new template?

I tried different things like copying the 3D geometry into the new template. I copied all at once and even tried copying the elements one by one. Doesn't make a difference.

I tried emptying the "old" template and transferring the new views from the new template by different ways. Then i can import everything exept the views (floor plans, elevations, etc.)

I tried linking the revit model and unbinding the link.

By every try i got the warning as shown in the image. No matter if i click Yes (ja) or No (nee) the action gets undone and we're back where we started.

Can someone please help me out?? :zwinkerndes_Gesicht: Thanks in advance!!

  1. Open existing project
  2. Open the new template (same Revit instance)
  3. Go to an existing project, Manage Tab -> Transfer Project Standards

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

That will transfer everything exept the plan views, etc... I already tried that

Can you open that file independently with Audit checked and inspect and resolve Warnings?

Wait a minute. "Unbinding Link"?  What does this mean?  Do you mean "Ungroup"?

Transfer Project Standards is the easiest option. Why do you need to use floor plan views from the template?

If you are trying to ungroup a group created by Binding a Link, and that group contains geometry, such as Walls, that have attached relationships, I can see how that could cause havoc.

See this:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2016/ENU/3PP-REV...

"Don't use attached relationships in groups. The top constraints of walls are commonly attached to levels or other hosts like floors and roofs, but these relationships should be avoided in groups."
